Tranquil tears of wisdom
Wash away the resentment
That resides in many a hearts
We turned to naught
The labels of history
The fables of yore
Because we chose to write our own
Fairytales dressed up in love
Cracks in the soul
We use as peepholes
To live each other’s pain
We defied the beliefs
The distorted versions
The crooked narrations
Because we chose to recite our own
Sonnets and ballads of love
Serene muffled voices
Bury themselves in laughter
That now dances on our lips
We prefer to restrain
The unsightly view
Of the mirror of truth
Because we chose to sing our own
Hymns and verses of love
My own pursuit of peace
Travels beyond barriers
The precinct of life
Has broken its chains
And liberated itself
From the shackles of past
Because I resolved to paint our own
Portrayal with colours of love
