The lost address

Dragging her feet into the unknown

Staggering to an anonymous existence

A concealed pain in her bosom

And a veiled story in mind

She fled away before the dawn

Holding the dusk in her eyes

A last glance at her hearth

And a new reverie to find

Followed the herd into the obscure

Chasing shadows, clouds and haze

A memory mingled with ache

And a maze to unwind

She heartily silenced her tears

Relinquishing all her rights

A feigned hope to live on

An illusory sense of pride

Holding her head very high

Pledging and vowing to survive

A journey to extinction

A traversal of its kind

Today when weary and tired

With no anticipation or longing

Sits at the edge of life searching

The address she left behind………….
